2018 iPhone Front Glass Panel Leaks: 6.1-Inch LCD Variant Features Thicker Bezels

In less than two months from now, Apple will announce its next in line 2018 iPhone models. Previously, we have heard a lot about what to expect from the company and its plans for this year’s iPhone releases. For what we know, there will be three different variants of the iPhone, each of which would have its own respective size and display technology. These leaks have poured in for a while and the sources have been pretty credible as well.

Ming-Chi Kuo when he was part of the KGI Securities, states that there will be three new iPhone models in the making, while one of them would be a mid-tier version for people who want flagship features but aren’t willing to pay for the price point. Now, we have an extension to the former leak in which the front glass panel of the 2018 iPhone models has been leaked. There’s a lot that the image shows, so so let’s get to it.

LCD Version Of The 2018 iPhone Will Feature Thicke Bezels Than OLED iPhones

Out of the three, two of the 2018 iPhone models with a screen size of 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch will feature OLED panels while the 6.1-inch iPhone will feature an LCD panel. Now, a new leaked image of the front glass panel of all three devices has surfaced on the internet, which depicts some pretty solid evidence on how the device will look like.

At this point in time, it’s quite difficult to assess whether the image leaked is legit or not. However, given the information and the different aspect, the image is in-line to the previous leaks, complimenting the display size. As it can be seen in the image provided, the leaked image shows that the bezels on the 6.1-inch LCD 2018 iPhone will be thicker than the remaining two with OLED displays.

This is despite the effort that Apple underwent to minimize the bezels. Even if the bezels on the 6.1-inch LCD 2018 iPhone does not look big compared to the remaining two, it would seem bigger in real life when the device will be compared to its OLED counterparts. LCD model of the 2018 iPhone cannot have minimum bezels all thanks to technological limitations. However, it’s still better than the chunkier bezels of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.

Nonetheless, if you’re conscious about the bezels on your device then Apple has the OLED 2018 iPhone models in store in two different sizes so you can always opt for them as well. However, they will come with a hefty price tag.

What do you think? Would you opt for the LCD version of the 2018 iPhone?
