How to Bypass Android Pattern Lock Screen

Android pattern lock screen or PIN lock 🔐 are similar, but pattern lock is drawn on the touch screen while PIN is a binary code or password. In this dedicated post, I will guide you on how to unlock the Android phone pattern lock if you have forgotten it.

You should know that there are many Android phone manufacturers, and all have different methods to bypass the Android lock screen. For example, Samsung has a different button combination for hard reset than Google Pixel, Huawei, ZTE, Motorola, HTC, Oppo, Vivo, and more.

I will try my best to cover all popular Android brands’ bypass lockscreen methods.

How Is Android Lock Screen Removal Done?

To bypass the Android lock screen, you need to factory reset your phone. But how do we get to the phone settings when it is already locked? Well, you can’t access a Samsung phone when it has a pattern or PIN lock. What you can do is to enter recovery mode to wipe data, factory reset it and restart your phone. This is called a “hard reset.” It wipes all the data that was stored on the internal memory of your phone. So hard resetting your Android device will wipe all data, so if you’ve got important data or messages, you need to find an alternative method that does not erase your important files.

How to Reset an Android Phone Without Google Account FRP?

If your Android phone or tablet is running Android 5 or above and you hard reset it using Recovery mode, after the factory reset it will ask for a Google account that was previously synced with the device. So, how do you avoid having your device FRP locked?

Well, if you don’t have access to phone settings, then there is no way you can avoid it. If you do have access to phone settings, then it’s a lot simpler. Go to Settings > Accounts and backup > Accounts and remove the Samsung or Google account that is added.

If you don’t have access to your phone’s settings or don’t remember your Google account, then download the latest version of FRP Bypass Apk. I have written a dedicated step-by-step guide for Samsung phones and tablets to bypass FRP lock using free FRP bypass tools.

How to Unlock a Samsung Pattern Lock Screen

To unlock a forgotten pattern lock on a Samsung phone or tablet, there are 2 different ways you can hard factory reset your device. The methods are different for older and newer models, particularly devices that have a Bixby button or home button.

Try this method if your phone has a Bixby button.

You’ll notice your phone will not restart when it is locked with a lock screen. So how do you restart it, even to boot it into recovery?

  1. First of all, press and hold down the Volume Down + Power buttons all at the same time for at least 5 to 10 seconds. It will restart your phone.
  1. Once the phone screen turns black, leave the volume down immediately and press volume up with Bixby and the power button for 5 to 10 seconds.
  1. Finally, you’ll get to the Android recovery as shown in the image below:

To navigate between different options To use Volume up or down and to select an option, press the Power button. To factory reset, select the Wipe data/ factory reset option. You’ll also get this warning.

If your phone is reset, you may need to enter the Google account information (email address and password) associated with this phone to be able to use it again.

Next, it will ask for another confirmation to wipe all user data. This can not be undone!

To confirm, select “Factory data reset.”

Once done, select Reboot system now to restart your phone.

How to Remove the Lock Screen from the Galaxy Note20 & S21 Ultra?

You’ll notice that Samsung has removed the Bixby button from the Galaxy S21 and Note20 series. So is the factory reset different from removing the Android lock screen?

The method is exactly the same, but to force restart the phone you need to press and hold the Volume down+Power buttons together for a few seconds. As soon as the screen turns black, leave the volume down immediately and press and hold Volume up with the Power button.

Use this method for older Samsung phones (with a physical home button).

Please note that just the button combination is different for older models like the Galaxy S7, S6, and J series phones. The rest of the process is exactly the same.

To boot older Samsung phones into recovery mode, use the Volume Up+Home+Power buttons all at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until you see the recovery menu.
