Huawei Honor V10 goes heavy with the hardware but affordable on the price tag
After raising the bar with Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, Huawei has announced an affordable new phone, the Honor V10. The design is reminiscent of the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. The display is an 18:9 IPS panel and has a dual camera set up. The price is a lot less than Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. The good news is that the Honor V10 has almost all the good features of Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro.
Honor V10 has a 5.99-inch screen with the resolution being 1,080 by 2,160 pixels. Honor V10 has the super fast Kirin 970 chipset, which also powered Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. A 4 or 6GB RAM cut of the phone are available, with 64GB or 128GB of storage depending on which model you get.
A microSD card is also present in the phone plus a 3.5mm headphone jack with a very generous 3750mAh battery that also supports fast-charging.
The highlight, however, is the affordability of the phone but, it comes at a cost. The Leica branded rear camera is missing, which was the highlight of the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. Still, Honor V10 has dual 16MP + 20MP rear cameras. The 20MP camera is a monochrome sensor.
It has a wide aperture of f/1.8 but there is no OIS present. On the front, there is a 13MP camera that has a f/2.0 aperture. As far as taking on the Apple animoji is concerned, Honor V10 could let you create animated videos and share them with your friends just like you can do with iPhone X so a software update could be around the corner to make this possible.
Honor V10 will be available for $410 for the 4GB RAM model, and $450 for the 6GB RAM option. The phone will initially only be available in China via online retailed such as JD, Vmail, and Tmall.
Maybe the phone will be available in more locations from December 5, when Huawei will hold another press event. Honor V10 will be launched in China on December 5 and will be available in Night Black, Charm Red, Beach Gold, and Aurora Blue.
