OnePlus 6 rumored to be released in June bearing a 2K display and advanced security features

Finally making a switch to a phone that features more screen, the next subject to talk about is definitely going to be the OnePlus 6. While we can expect the phone to feature the same 18:9 aspect ratio, we should also gear up to see the Snapdragon 845 running in what is expected to be an affordable smartphone, if you compare it against the iPhone X and the Galaxy Note 8 that is.

OnePlus 6 rumored to be released in June bearing a 2K display and advanced security features

A rumor coming from China reveals that the OnePlus 6 is going to be announced during the month of June. An exact release date was not given, but it is to be believed that the phone is going to be announced at the same date as the OnePlus 5, which was June 5. The Chinese manufacturer currently has no choice but to pick up the Snapdragon 845 since MediaTek is currently not targeting the high-end chipset market and OnePlus is yet to develop its in-house SoC.

This time, the OnePlus 6 could be the first phone from the company to finally break the 2K resolution barrier. While the OnePlus 5T did cross the 1080p mark with a 2160 x 1080 resolution, the OnePlus 6 could feature a 2880 x 1440 OLED display with an aspect ratio of 18:9.

The smartphone has also been rumored to get advanced security features ranging from a better fingerprint reader and Face Unlock. Face Unlock debuted with the OnePlus 5T, so we should expect better things from the OnePlus 6 in general. The phone might not feature an embedded fingerprint sensor like the Vivo X20 unveiled at CES 2018, the sensor could be placed at the back of the chassis and at a location where it does not become a struggle for the user to unlock their device.

While the design of the OnePlus 6 is said to be the same as its predecessor, it is the pricing and other internals inside the phone that will matter.
