Report Suggets 2018 iPhone X Plus To Be The Size Of iPhone 8 Plus, Would You Like That?
This year marks the arrival of the second generation of the iPhone X. Whatever you want to call it at this stage – iPhone X Plus, 2018 iPhone or the iPhone Pro depends on the source. Now, new news is coming past us which will add up to the list into making the best ever iPhone we have seen to date. However, final word for what to expect remains with Apple and no official statements regarding the scenario have been shared.
According to Macotakara, there has been information gathered from reliable supply sources, citing that the 2018 iPhone model with 6.5-inch display will have roughly the same size as that of the iPhone 8 Plus. The iPhone 8 Plus has a screen size of 5.5-inches but has those gigantic bezels at the top and bottom portion of the display.
2018 iPhone To Be The Same Size As that of The iPhone 8 Plus
As we have mentioned earlier, the 6.5-inch iPhone with an OLED panel will have the same size as that of the iPhone 8 Plus. However, the thickness of the device will be a little different which we will talk about later on. The 6.5-inch screen size on the 2018 iPhone model will be all thanks to the edge to edge design change brought forward by the iPhone X.
In terms of the thickness, the forthcoming 2018 iPhone will feature a 0.2mm increase. The iPhone 8 Plus is 7.5mm thin and if the report is anything to be taken as reliable, we will see the next generation of iPhone at 7.7mm thin. There’s a reason for the increase in thickness of the device. The publication believes that the iPhone X will be 0.2mm thicker all thanks to the larger camera sensor located at the back of the device.
The other 2018 iPhone model which will be a successor to the current iPhone X will have the same body size but the camera system will be readjusted to fit a bigger camera. For the 6.1-inch iPhone, the source again points that it will feature an LCD panel along with Face ID.
Finally, the source also points that iOS 12 will introduce horizontal recognition support for Face ID. Right now, you cannot rotate your phone to unlock your iPhone X. This will make unlocking easier and a lot more streamlined. iOS 12 will ship in the 2018 iPhone models and we will see the support built-in.
