Tesla Reveals The New Roadster, Insane 0-60 Mark In 1.9 Seconds
Just when the folks over at the Tesla Semi launch thought that the event was over, the company rolled out of the biggest surprise: a stunning red Tesla Roadster. The latest iteration is a new version of its original sports car. What’s special about the new Roadster is that its the fastest production car ever made as per the words from Elon Musk. It reached 0-60 in just 1.9 seconds, which is quite a mark in the industry. So let’s check it out in a bit more detail.

To clarify the power under the hood, the Tesla Roadster reaches 0-100 in just 4.2 seconds. To top it off, Musk said that “This is a base model” and also mentioned that the top speed is above 250mph. If this is the base model, god knows what we should expect in the years to come. As for seating, it’s a 2 by 2 four-seater. The roadster also features a 200 kWh battery pack that offers 630 miles of drive on a highway. That’s quite a range!
As of now, it will not be available to the interested customers, rather it is expected to arrive in 2020 starting at $200,000. The first 1,000 which will be sold will be the Founder’s Series models and will ship with a price of $250,000. Even though it sounds a lot on paper, it’s basically a steal for the fastest production car ever made.
The best part about the launch was its announcement, the crowd was in absolute awe when Musk too the stage and unveiled the Tesla Roadster to the audience. In terms of the design aesthetics, the fastest production car ever by Tesla perfectly complements the classic sports car design.
The entrance of the vehicle was top notch as it ripped up the runway at the hanger where it stood still in all of its glory, flaunting at the crowd. The two new Tesla Semi trucks were standing on either side, which was supposed to be the only revelation by the company.
In comparison with the Tesla Model S P100D’s 2.5 seconds time for the same distance, the 1.9-second mark from 0-60 is simply astounding.

Tesla was also giving a ride to anyone at the event who would put down a $50,000 deposit on a purchase for when it will go on sale. The deposit was without knowing the full price which some die-hard Tesla fans considered.
